Dr Smith has a wide knowledge and interest in immunology and allergy, and these are just some of the conditions and treatments that he is able to assist patients with. This list is not exhaustive, so if you don’t see your problem listed below it doesn’t mean that we can’t help.

Anaphylaxis

Characterised by a severe multi-system allergic reaction, anaphylaxis can occur within half an hour of exposure to the allergy trigger.

Asthma

Asthma is a complex condition which may be triggered by an allergic reaction, such as dust mites, pollen, pet dander, moulds and many more. Determining its triggers, along with suitable treatment, is essential in your care.

Urticaria

The presence of hives, welts and swelling that lasts for more than 6 weeks.

Food Allergy

A food allergy is an immune system reaction to allergy-causing food. There are many foods which cause allergies, however some of the more common food allergies may include wheat, soybeans, peanuts, tree nuts, milk and eggs.

Immune Deficiency

Diseases that cause increased susceptibility to infections in patients.

Allergic Rhinitis (AKA Hay Fever)

Symptoms can include sneezing, runny nose and itchy, watery eyes. Determining its allergic triggers, along with suitable treatment, is essential in controlling the condition.

Please ensure that you are 18 years of age or older. Dr Anthony Smith is an adult allergist and only sees adult patients. For patients 12 years or older, Dr Tiffany Hughes is a fantastic option, and any younger please ask your referring practitioner for pediatric allergist recommendations.

Please ensure that you have a valid referral from your GP or Specialist. All referrals are assessed and triaged by Dr Anthony Smith for suitability, and must be sent to our rooms prior to your appointment. This is to ensure that your time and money are not wasted in the event that your condition would be better treated by a different specialty.
